Eighth Annual Seattle Erotic Art Festival April 30 – May 2, 2010

SEATTLE – The Seattle Erotic Art Festival celebrates its eighth year April 30 to May 2, at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. Thousands of patrons and attendees will enjoy three days of events featuring erotic visual, performance and literary art in addition to interactive installations, after parties, workshops, and an expansive, museum-quality Festival Store.

Festival jurors and curators selected 125 works of art from the over 1,600 entries submitted by more than 400 artists from around the word. The jurors this year are Jen Graves, Daniel Carrillo, Dianne Elliott and Sharon Arnold. Guest curator Chris Crites will assist in selecting an additional 100 works. Jason Plourde, programming director of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, will be creating a program of short erotic films.

For 2010, the Festival has commissioned an original piece of performance art theater to complement the world-class visual art exhibition on Friday and Saturday nights. Award-winning NYC-based director Roger Benington will write and direct this new work in collaboration with locally and nationally recognized performance artists. This all-star production will bring to life a colorful, glittering tale of erotic liberation.

“Over the three day weekend, we’ll present the work of hundreds of artists: sculptors, writers, and actors; lighting designers, painters and performance artists; photographers, DJs and film-makers,” says Festival Director Anna Hurwitz. “There will be something for everyone.”

The Festival is still seeking submissions. The Call for Literary Art is open through March 15, and the Call for Store Merchandise and Call for Short Erotic Films are open through April 4. Entry forms and guidelines are available at www.SEAFArtist.com.
